  Always good here. A touch expensive for some things hence the lost star. However, i will continue to use The Croft as it is normally had excellent service.

  The location of this restaurant is simply excellent, it's a shame the food couldn't match this.
  
  Bourton-on-the-Water is a gorgeous little village and The Croft sits banv in the middle and enjoys beautiful views over the river. When booking make sure you ask for a window table.
  
  The staff were friendly, but the food not so good. I ordered a crayfish salad and duck for mains. All was ok, but nothing special. The salad was basic and consisted of nothing more than lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes. The duck came with backed sweet potatoes, which in my view didn't work as a combination. In addition the duck was overdone and quite chewy. I had a few of my fiancé's chips, these were marginally better than oven chips.
  
  I am tempted to give this 3 stars, but I would eat here again because of the views/locations. If you are staying in Bourton-on-the-Water there​ is not much else. However if you are not drinking and are willing to drive I suggest you venture out further to a surrounding village.

  Lovely venue with great views of the water. I thought the food was average but it members of the party thought it good. Very pleasant staff and they serve the Cotswold Brewery lager.
